Spaceagency has an opening for a studio manager to join its firm in London.
Spaceagency is an international wayfinding, placemaking and experience design agency based in London and working globally. Our practice connects expertise in urban design and architecture with the human focus of communication design and product design; enhancing how people experience and interact with spaces. Our international client portfolio includes cities, global brands and collaborations with renowned design studios.
We are looking for a highly capable studio manager with the confidence and tenacity to look after this ambitious and growing company. As studio manager, you will work closely with senior management to ensure everything is in place to enable our creative design team to deliver their work.
This is a pivotal role within the company. Through proactive management the studio manager will support the growth of a continuously improving organization and culture.
You should be exceptionally well-organised and excellent at multi-tasking to ensure the effective management of all hands-on aspects of operations:
You are:
- a positive person with a solutions-oriented mindset and excellent problem-solving skills
- efficient and proactive
- a good communicator, fluent in written and spoken English
- highly organised with strong prioritisation skills, you have an ability to drive work to conclusions and deliver to deadlines
- have commercial awareness and be confident and experienced with SME financial matters
- a team player who can quickly become the ‘go-to’ person
- comfortable and confident in Mac OS, Office 365, and have basic InDesign skills
- someone who has at least four years’ experience in a similar role, this will be your second or third position as a studio manager or similar office administrative role
- able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism
- interested in design and the creative industries
You will be responsible for
Office management:
- managing all elements of the office maintenance as well as day to day management of the studio
- supporting the team with general studio administration
- organising company travel
- processing invoices, expenses and VAT
- team timesheet management and project time-tracking
- organising team socials
- managing the company’s physical and digital filing system
- managing the marketing and award submissions
- upkeep of the website, social media and tender submissions
- managing the company’s health and safety policy
HR:
- providing advice to employees on company benefits and entitlements, including the company pension scheme and health insurance
- managing employment contracts, staff records and annual reviews
- managing the company Staff Sponsorship process
- managing the company handbook and on-boarding process for new employees and consultants
- support the directors in liaising with our external HR consultant when required
