Studio Tomás Saraceno is seeking an architect to join its team in Berlin.
We are a large and dynamic interdisciplinary studio and currently looking for an architect with excellent design and communication skills to join the internationally renowned artist’s team.
The studio is a fast-paced, hands-on and an experimental environment. Our collaborative approach focuses on interdisciplinary projects of different scales, taking place around the world. Suitable applicants must be inventive, diligent, enthusiastic, and quick-learning with proven abilities to undertake, complete and articulate a project from sketch, through a computer model and prototypes, to a building design.
About you:
- proven working experience in pre-eminent projects with leading firms
- an outstanding portfolio
- excellent demonstrable graphic and computer skills, namely in Rhinoceros 3D modeling and parametric design (Grasshopper). Coding skills are a plus
- understanding of computational design and complex geometries, with an aesthetic sensibility for composition
- experience in 1:1 prototyping, mock-ups, and understanding of various material properties and processes is a plus
- excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Package: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- ability to create detailed design developments (collages and layouts) with 3D modeling and post-production techniques
- excellent English with oral and written communication skills; Fluency in German or Spanish is a plus
- flexible and committed attitude to work; Highly motivated and able to demonstrate initiative in a large team
- good time-management skills; An ability to set priorities, manage a number of tasks concurrently, and work independently
- demonstrable interest in art and architecture
About us
The Studio Tomás Saraceno is an ongoing research entity founded by the artist Tomás Saraceno and driven by his visions, informed by the worlds of art, architecture, natural sciences, astrophysics, and engineering; his floating sculptures, community projects, and interactive installations propose and explore new, sustainable ways of inhabiting and sensing the environment.
