Projects associate
at Sterling Studios
Sterling Studios is seeking a projects associate to join its team in London.
We are looking for a lively, organised person to join our busy creative team at Sterling Studios in west London. A well-known decorative arts studio, we design and create artworks for HNW clients across the globe. You will be a key part of the client/projects team in a wide-ranging administrative and design role from estimating and scheduling to installation.
Sterling Studios is a renowned and established award-winning decorative arts company creating spectacular bespoke wall finishes and art pieces for international clients in our workshop in Park Royal, West London. Our projects cover the high end residential, hospitality and yachting sectors.
Working within our small client facing sales/projects/design team and closely with our office and on-site workshop, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person with an interest in the arts, and a knowledge, understanding and passion for design with excellent CAD skills. You will have at least two years’ experience within a similar sized high-end design/joinery/arts manufacturing company.
As a key member of the Sterling Studios team, you must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects, seeing each through from initial enquiry to completion. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills to manage key relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
Role and responsibilities:
- this role is a key point of contact within the business for project enquiries and includes
- processing sales enquiries and producing proposals and estimates; sending invoices and tracking payments
- client-facing project management from initial enquiry throughout production to completion
- providing clear project requirements to the workshop for production and liaising between the client and the workshop throughout the production process
- ensuring specialist supplies are ordered within production requirements
- liaising with the projects team, workshop and artwork department to organise production and design
- organising sitework and visits with contractors, subcontractors and designers
- dealing with sample enquiries and loans
- producing production drawings in CAD from site measurements and other CAD/design work when required
- organising the samples room and ensuring it is prepared for client meetings, together with other team members
- organising and attending meetings with clients
- representing the company at exhibitions and other marketing events
Essential skills:
- be IT literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft office, Outlook and CAD, and familiarity with Photoshop. Knowledge of Adobe illustrator would be useful
- be numerate with strong mathematical and spreadsheet skills, and be able to read and measure plans and elevations
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language
- enjoy working on diverse multiple projects involving research and innovation, using wide ranging designs, materials and processes
- have an outgoing, positive and enthusiastic personality with strong interpersonal skills and enjoy dealing with rapidly changing design requirements of clients
- confident in face-to-face sales and client meetings
- be capable of delivering neat, clear and accurate design information and schedules
- possess problem solving skills and attention to detail in planning, designing and executing work
- be meticulous, highly organised and efficient
