IT technician

Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates is looking for an IT technician to join its growing team in London.
Role: IT technician with minimum of three to five years’ experience.
Location: Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates, London office
We are looking for an individual who can join our talented architects and technical team and provide IT support for our growing office. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and answers to users’ questions, assisting users by troubleshooting problems with computer hardware or software. They will provide high‐level technical support and systems analysis to identify, prevent, and resolve service interruptions in the organisation’s networks and systems. They should be a multitasker who can handle a fast-paced environment.
Main responsibilities:
- provides technical proficiency, control, and project coordination services to support and maintain continuity of the organisation’s computer systems and networks
- monitors systems usage and needs
- researches, identifies, and recommends software and applications that will improve the stability of systems and networks
- researches, identifies, and recommends new hardware, software, and applications to support future and/or complex management information systems
- recommends and implements policies and practices to maximise resource utilisation
- takes a lead role in the development, implementation, coordinates and reports to London management on the maintenance of the data recovery aspects of the organisation’s disaster recovery plan
- escalates problems to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
- liaise with London management on strategies and development proposals and coordinate with BIM manager, Chicago office IT team and external IT support consultancy team
- maintains knowledge on developments, trends, and best practices in technology and business networks
- provide IT software support to staff working in the office and remote working staff as needed
- assist in installation, fit‐out, service, and replacement of computer equipment
- maintains asset registers
- proposes annual IT budget
- arrange service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products
- works autonomously within established procedures, responsibilities to provide technical support to end‐users
- requires some physicality when moving equipment, relocating, cabling, networking etc.
- performs other related duties as assigned
Required skills:
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent interpersonal skills with ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff
- strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
- superior understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems
- excellent time management skills
- proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- proficient with or able to quickly learn to use a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software

The position is open to UK-based applicants only, who have prior experience working in the IT industry. The candidate should demonstrate excellent technical aptitude, plus possess great interpersonal and communication skills.
