Part 2 architectural assistant
at Roach Matthews
Roach Matthews is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

We set up Roach Matthews in March 2021 with the ambition of creating meaningful architecture for good people. Our portfolio includes housing, workplace, cafés and restaurants, new private houses, and retrofit projects. So far, most of our work is in the southeast, across London, Sussex and Suffolk.
We’ve now reached the stage where we want to find the right person to join the team at our studio in Bermondsey.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- motivated and ambitious
- willing to learn, improve and develop
- engaged and inquisitive with an eye for detail and visual quality
- passionate about all aspects of architecture and design
The right person has:
- experience of working in practice and familiar with statutory approvals (Planning, Building Control etc.)
- experience of RIBA Stages 1 – 5
- computer draughting and 3D modelling skills (Vectorworks and SketchUp experience is a bonus)
- the ability to communicate through doodles or sketches to express and develop an idea with others
- familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools
- excellent written and spoken English skills

We offer a four day working week with no reduction in pay. The successful candidate will receive a competitive full-time salary of £29,000 per annum, but will only be required to work 32 hours per week (Monday to Thursday). The position is studio-based.
