Procurement and accounting assistant

Gunter & Co is hiring a FF&E procurement assistant to join its team in London.

Overview

You will provide support to the procurement manager by assisting in the FF&E procurement across various projects in a timely and efficient manner. A background in accounting or logistics would be helpful but not essential. Mathematics skills and confidence with accurately entering figures are important. The ability to organise your time and communicate well is essential as these projects require a high level of attention to detail at every stage. This role is not an entry into a career as an interior designer, is it a logistical role that is an essential part of the company’s delivery of interior design projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • assisting in the responsibility of managing procurement of all projects
  • sending off purchase orders and liaising with suppliers
  • putting together fabric schedules and cutting sheets
  • ensuring deposits and payments are made efficiently to confirm all orders
  • liaising with the design team where necessary to sort any query out efficiently
  • help maintain and develop good relationships with suppliers
  • assisting in the coordination of delivery and installation logistics
  • liaising with and managing suppliers to control lead times and delivery of all items in conjunction with the programme schedule
  • assisting in the quality control of all furniture at manufacturers workshops and onsite
  • assisting with snagging and resolution of after care issues
  • creating aftercare manuals for clients

Requirements:

  • a strong work ethic and highly organised, conscientious, efficient and methodical
  • a high level of professionalism in dealing with suppliers
  • an ability to use and show initiative and to find creative solutions to problems
  • an enthusiastic and positive approach
  • a team player
  • an aptitude for multi-tasking and working under pressure
  • excellent communication skills, especially on the telephone, confident in liaising with suppliers, logistic companies, suppliers, etc

Background

A background in interiors is not a must. An accurate mind and attention to detail is far more important. We welcome candidates from other industries to apply!

Location

Ideally, you would be working in our Battersea office a minimum of three days a week, with two days working from home. Often you will visit our London-based projects to oversee any snagging/installation work. However, for the right candidate, we can also consider the role to be working from home full-time except for a few days a month (minimum three).
