London, UK
Part-I architectural assistant
at DO+CO
Darren Oldfield Architects is seeking a Part-I architectural assistant to join its London practice.
Established in 2013, we provide sustainable, inventive and meticulously designed architecture to a range of residential and commercial clients.
Over the past five years, our project sizes and workloads have steadily increased, with a growing client base predominantly in London, the South East and the East of England.
We are now looking to recruit a quick-to-learn and pro-active Part I architectural assistant seeking early stage, hands-on architectural experience, to join our office based in West Dulwich.
The right candidate will gain experience in supporting several of the practice’s smaller residential projects, working alongside a supportive and close-knit team. Main duties and responsibilities include surveying, sketch design and hand drawing, using Photoshop, InDesign and 3D modelling/rendering.
As we are a small practice, the right person for the role will be enthusiastic and keen to get involved in all aspects of the architectural process, leading to excellent opportunities for Part II study and beyond.
The successful candidate will have:
- RIBA Part-I architectural qualification
- immaculate written and spoken English
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and graphical communication skills
- strong ability to work independently, in a responsible and self-motivated manner
- excellent team-working skills
The following are desirable:
- previous experience of working in a UK architecture practice
- proficiency using Mac, Vectorworks and Sketchup experience
- ability to start work at short notice
Application deadline: Friday 10 August, 17:00
