CLTH Architecture is seeking a studio manager to join its team in London.
CLTH is an award-winning architectural practice looking for a studio manager to join our team of architects and architectural assistants based in the Barbican. We are open to considering candidates who can work part-time (four days per week or five shorter days – salary will be pro-rata).
The studio manager will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the practice. This is a varied role that would suit a proactive, highly organised individual with excellent administrative and spoken communication skills and good attention to detail.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous. Knowledge of the architecture profession and experience using RAPPORT is beneficial. Good general IT skills are necessary, we use InDesign for all submission docs.
Typical responsibilities
General studio management:
- first point of contact for incoming enquiries
- administer print contracts and maintain stationary level
- liaise with external IT and technical support team
- manage filing and archiving systems (in-house and digitally)
- support the wider team
- help managing the diary and arrange meetings
- assist with occasional travel bookings
- maintain RIBA log for CPDs
Finance and project administration:
- manage incoming job enquiries
- assist with project time and budget tracking on RAPPORT software
- assist the director and co-secretary with project fee agreements
- manage project contracts and agreements with clients
- manage project contracts and agreements with subconsultants
- negotiate insurance renewals including professional indemnity
- setting up documents for competitions and getting jobs
- manage professional subscriptions requirements and updates (constructionline, etc)
- manage framework platform enrolment and information
- manage utilities agreements
HR administration:
- assist with recruitment and drafting contracts
- liaise with outside HR advisors to ensure compliance with employment law
- induction of new staff and setting up on office systems
- assist the partners with bi-annual performance reviews
- update policy handbooks
- manage benefits
- ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
Public relations:
- manage requests and liaise with outside PR
- filing photography of completed jobs
- undertake basic website updates and liaise with external web designers
- social media updates in collaboration with the rest of the team
- occasional coordination of special events and talks at the studio
Salary dependent on experience.
20 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus closure between Christmas and New Year. Pension is in line with the Government Auto Enrolment scheme.
