Finkernagel Ross is seeking a Part 2 or Part 3 architect to join its team in Shoreditch, London.
As a design-led well-established studio located on Shoreditch High Street, we have high aspirations in response to a number of exciting and varied high-calibre commissions.
The position is primarily office-based to ensure a stimulating and proactive workflow within the team and the efficient running of our projects. However, we do offer hybrid working with regards to working from home when and where appropriate and subject to an agreed schedule.

Role description
You will perform a critical role in delivering the bold, impactful and hard-working spaces that we deliver for our clients, in both residential and commercial settings. As an ambitious, talented individual working as part of a tight-knit and friendly team, you will contribute to the accurate design and production of information for one or more projects, under the supervision of a project leader.
As a member of a design team, you will assist with the overall development and implementation of multiple projects, under the guidance of the project leader and associate along with the support of your team.
Key responsibilities:
- under the guidance of the project leader, accurately prepare and develop drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the project (a coordination element to this role will apply to Part 2 architects)
- seek to understand the design project and design decisions taken by others
- develop, as directed, representations of design options for further discussion by the design team
- independently ensure all work is adequately checked by the project leader before being issued to senior project team members and external parties
- take responsibility for and strive for personal progress
- actively shadow the work of the architects, associates and directors in order to develop the skills to progress to those roles in the future
- contribute to the smooth running of the office.

Qualifications/skills:
- architectural training with UK Part 2/3
- excellent organisational skills
- able to work independently and as part of a team
- evidence of a good understanding of design (e.g. design portfolio)
- able to contribute to the design and implementation of projects
- able to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
- good drawn, written and verbal communication and organisation skills
- ability to use relevant 2D and 3D software required (AutoCAD, Sketchup, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Rhino and Twinmotion a plus)
- fluency in ArchiCad preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate
- completion of one project RIBA Stages 1 – 6 in high-end residential preferable but not required
- completion of one project RIBA Stages 1 – 6 in hospitality/restaurant design preferable but not required
- physical model-building skills
