Senior interior architect

Studio Millership is seeking a senior interior architect to join its dynamic team in London.

We are an ambitious boutique studio known for creating timeless interiors that are clear in expression and uncompromised in use.

About the role

We are looking for a senior interior architect with extensive experience in the residential and hospitality sectors.

Working client side, you will be skilled and passionate at taking an idea and turning it into a reality and guiding clients and investors to deliver high-quality housing projects primarily in London, and across the UK.

As an effective communicator, you will present your ideas confidently to clients and the wider project delivery team.

This role is ideal for someone comfortable with responsibility and accountability, ready to contribute to the studio’s growth and long-term success.

Key responsibilities:

  • lead client interactions to build strong, productive relationships
  • critique and inform clients about potential concerns on new acquisitions
  • suggest improvements on recent acquisitions to enhance product quality
  • design thoughtful residential apartment and communal area interiors, selecting suitable products, materials and finishes
  • visualise, collate and present interior schemes for client and investor approval
  • drive FF&E selection and procurement to align with interior schemes
  • build effective relationships with external consultants, manufacturers and suppliers
  • produce comprehensive Stage 3 and Stage 4 design drawings
  • review and ensure consultant drawings align with our designs
  • approve detailed shop drawings, prototypes and samples
  • attend site meetings to ensure design compliance and quality standards
  • research and source new products, finishes and processes to enhance our services and support sustainability goals

Qualifications:

  • an industry-recognised diploma or degree in interior architecture or architecture
  • minimum of eight years’ experience in the commercial residential and hospitality sectors
  • legal right to work in the UK

Essential qualities and skills:

  • proven experience working on large-scale residential and hospitality projects
  • excellent organisational and time management skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively when required
  • self-motivated problem solver with a proactive approach
  • discreet with sensitive and confidential information
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office, Microstation, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Desirable skills:

  • experience in build-to-rent residential projects
