Senior design lead – custom yachts
At Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design we create full, custom super yacht designs for clients in the highest segment of the market.
We’re looking for an experienced, creative and talented senior design lead to take the helm of our custom yacht design projects.
In this role, you’ll create and oversee the creation of stunning yacht exteriors and interiors, delivering designs that embody the unmatched quality and innovation that Sinot is renowned for. You’ll manage each project with precision, ensuring our clients and stakeholders receive the top-tier service and flawless results they expect. Key responsibilities
Creative leadership: lead the creative development of fully custom yacht designs, covering exterior and interior decks, GA’s, profile development, custom furniture, décor and materials. You’ll create the design direction and the designs, ensuring that all aligns with class requirements, client preferences and art direction.
Design visualisation: produce and supervise sketches, drawings, GA’s, mood boards, designs and 3D models that clearly communicate your creative concepts to clients, art directors and project team members. You’ll brief designers, 3D modellers, visualisers and other project participants to bring your ideas to life.
Client presentations: create and deliver compelling presentations to all stakeholders, including clients and management, while overseeing the design development process. You’ll also manage approvals, material samples and all necessary project documentation.
Team collaboration: work closely with designers, modellers, CGI artists, FF&E specialists and design engineers as a project leader. You’ll be doing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring smooth communication and efficient project execution.
Project oversight: take responsibility for the planning and performance of all design-related internal and external input, making sure all aligns with contractual agreements and project goals.
Key qualifications
Design excellence: proven ability to create stunning, fully custom exterior and interior designs for super yachts between 40-80m LOA.
Extensive expertise: a minimum of eight years of recent, hands-on experience as a senior design lead in the super yacht industry, showcased in an impressive portfolio.
Industry knowledge: in-depth understanding of European shipyards, top-tier suppliers, manufacturers, production technologies, class requirements, crew operations and high-quality materials.
Communication and leadership: outstanding communication, organisational and presentation skills, ensuring efficient workflows and meeting deadlines with ease.
Technical proficiency: mastery of Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Rhino, MS Office and fluency in English are essential.
Detail-oriented and proactive: a keen eye for detail, combined with a responsible, proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
Flexibility and availability: availability for 40 hours per week, with flexibility around working hours. Open to regular international and intercontinental travel. Living in or willing to relocate to The Netherlands.
