Procurement and logistics coordinator
at Double Decker

Double Decker is seeking a procurement and logistics coordinator with experience in hospitality to join its team in London.

Double Decker is recruiting for an experienced and confident coordinator to manage the procurement of artefacts, materials, coordinating shipments and overseeing the logistics of delivering the artworks for various design projects.

This role involves working closely with artists, suppliers and the internal team to ensure that all design projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality.

Key responsibilities

As a procurement and logistics coordinator, you will play a vital role in bringing the artistic vision of our projects to life.

Procurement:

  • source artefacts, materials and design elements from vendors, artists and suppliers
  • build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers to meet project needs
  • negotiate prices and terms while ensuring quality
  • manage purchase orders and maintain a database of approved vendors

Logistics coordination:

  • plan and coordinate shipping for materials and artworks domestically and internationally
  • track shipments, manage storage and resolve any customs or delivery issues
  • ensure shipments are insured and handle claims for damages

Project coordination:

  • collaborate with artists, suppliers and the project manager to establish procurement and delivery timelines
  • assist with logistics schedules, ensuring deadlines are met
  • manage communication regarding production timelines and resolve issues quickly
  • monitor procurement expenses and provide budget updates
  • identify cost saving opportunities and process supplier invoices

Quality control:

  • inspect materials for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet design specifications
  • address issues with suppliers regarding defective or incorrect products

Collaboration and communication:

  • serve as the main contact for procurement and logistics inquiries
  • maintain clear communication with designers, suppliers and project managers
  • foster positive relationships with suppliers and artists

Qualifications and skills:

  • bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • experience in logistics and procurement within a creative, interior design or related industry
  • strong negotiation skills and an understanding of supplier management
  • knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures and international logistics
  • excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a creative environment

Preferred qualifications

  • experience working with artists, designers or in the creative industry.=
  • familiarity with sustainable procurement practices and materials
  • passion for interior design, curation, art and creativity in problem-solving
