Project surveyor

Build Team is seeking a project surveyor to join its team in London.
We are looking for a friendly, approachable and committed project surveyor to join our team in Clapham, SW9.
Working in vibrant offices, this role is varied and dynamic. The role is to offer the build director support at the front end of the business, meeting potential clients, speaking with potential clients on the phone, creating estimates and working with the team to assist in the smooth running of the day to day sales operations.
A positive, can-do attitude is a must and organisation is essential as you’ll be juggling a variety of tasks. The successful candidate will have previous experience from a selling background and will have a good knowledge and understanding of the residential construction industry.
This role is a Monday to Friday work week with the occasional weekend where required.

The role
The role will work closely with the build director and includes the effective management and accountability of your own time and diary.
Day to day, there will be various duties which will include office-based admin such as filtering enquiries, initial client introductions via Zoom and site visits around Greater London. The role will also include preparing more complex, technical documents such as detailed schedules.
You will be responsible for introducing Build Team with a positive and proactive manor and you will be able to offer clear and effective advice for the clients up-coming home improvement projects. Keeping track and keeping in touch with your client base is essential with weekly reporting to the build director.
The successful candidate will be computer literate and be able to prepare, create and send accurate and clear quotations/estimates along with other documents in the Build Team format following their consultations. The efficient use and understanding of Excel is a must. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and on the phone will be essential for this role.
Key responsibilities:
- review the design to fully understand the clients needs
- attending pre-construction meetings
- answering client queries and arranging follow up meetings where required
- issuing estimates and quotations and following up
- liaising with stakeholders
- updating and maintaining spreadsheets, data base and trackers
- ad hoc duties
Requirements:
- proactive, can do approach
- previous sales experience
- previous experience in construction (preferred)
- excellent attention to detail
- Microsoft proficient
- ability to work as part of a team and work independently
- excellent organisation and efficiency
- excellent English both oral and written
- friendly and personable
- able to take ownership of required tasks and works
