Nissen Richards Studio is looking for a graphic design artworker to join its team in London.

Nissen Richards Studio is seeking a graphic design artworker to join its in-house graphic design team, for three days a week part-time position.

We are a multi-disciplinary design practice that specialises in architecture, exhibition, graphic and theatre design. We currently have a number of exciting projects both in the UK and worldwide, working with wide range of interesting and prestigious clients.

Our graphics team produces 2D design and artworking of large scale graphics for exhibition, wayfinding signage, print material and branding. We are looking for someone to specialise and run the art working element of this work, and ensure a smooth running of the production side of the work. However this also involves a creative eye, and control of the quality of the final translation from a creative idea.

We are looking for a highly creative, motivated individual, with a positive attitude who is able to work collaboratively with other members of the team.  They should be detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills in order to manage a continuous workflow in a high volume, multi-tasking environment. We are looking for people who are able to keep on top of their workloads and meet deadlines. An interest in museums and galleries is essential.

The position is based in our studio in East London.

Essential qualifications/requirements:

  • bachelor’s degree (BA) minimum in graphic design or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • possession of creative flair, versatility, visual ability
  • demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • ability to interact, communicate and present ideas both internally and to contractors and clients, with excellent communications skills both spoken and written
  • up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop); knowledge of web based software an advantage
  • highly proficient in all design aspects including a strong eye for typography and art-working skills
  • extensive experience in DTM printing and large scale image
  • ability to maintain budgets and keep to timelines and maintain the highest creative standards
  • experience working with graphics contractors
  • retouching techniques to refine assets
  • skills in creating visually stunning compositions that bring design concepts to life

Desirable but not essential:

  • experience in museum exhibition design
