HTA Design is hiring Part 1 architectural assistants to join its teams in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester, UK.
Contract: fixed term (12 months)
Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum (London)/£25,000 to £27,000 per annum (outside of London)
HTA Design is an award winning multi-disciplinary design partnership of specialist teams working collaboratively in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, interior design, communications design, sustainability and planning.
Our busy architectural design studios in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester are looking for newly graduated, talented and ambitious Part 1 architectural assistants to work with our interdisciplinary teams on one or more of our medium to large scale housing and mixed use projects in the UK.
We have exciting new schemes for a range of key clients including high density urban housing, sustainable lower density and regeneration projects. You will be working in a team on pre or post-planning stage projects, and should be able to demonstrate ability in these design stages. You will gain experience on medium and large scale developments whilst developing your design and professional skills.
The successful candidates will be Part I qualified or equivalent and have:
- RIBA Part 1 qualification in Architecture or international equivalent
- a well-presented portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and technical understanding
- prior UK-based architectural work experience (desirable but not essential)
- a keen interest in housing design
- good design, technical and presentation skills
- good interpersonal and communication skills
- the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
- reliable, punctual, and dedicated to high performance and ongoing personal development
- good attention to detail and good problem solving skills
- strong IT and office administration skills, including proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- experience (or familiarity) with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Lumion, and Affinity
- model making proficiency (manual or digital techniques) is desirable
- able to provide clear direction, delegate effectively, and foster a culture of trust
