KAIA Editions is looking for a sales manager to join its team in New York.
KAIA Editions is looking for an experienced sales manager to lead and grow our New York gallery and develop our presence across the US market.
Based at our gallery at the New York Design Center, 200 Lexington Avenue, the role is ideal for someone with a strong background in collectible design, high-end lighting, furniture or luxury interiors, combined with an established network within New York’s architecture and interior design community.
KAIA Editions is an independent, female-owned design company dedicated to preserving and remastering traditional European craftsmanship through timeless design, engineering precision and avant-garde thinking. Working with leading international designers and small specialist ateliers, we create lighting, furniture and collectible objects designed to last.
The role:
- the sales manager will take ownership of our New York gallery and play a key role in developing KAIA’s relationships with architects, interior designers, collectors, galleries and other industry partners
- working closely with our founder and creative director and our international sales team, responsibilities will include:
- developing and managing relationships with leading architects, interior designers, collectors and specifiers in New York and across the US
- proactively generating new business and identifying project opportunities
- managing and developing existing client relationships
- presenting KAIA’s collections, craftsmanship and design philosophy to clients
- arranging gallery appointments, presentations and client visits
- following projects from initial enquiry and specification through quotation and order
- developing relationships within the collectible design and high-end residential and hospitality markets
- representing KAIA at design events, fairs, launches and industry gatherings
- working closely with our European team on sales strategy, product knowledge and key projects
- maintaining a strong and welcoming presence at the New York gallery
- providing regular pipeline and sales reporting
About you:
- we are looking for someone who is commercially driven but genuinely passionate about design and craftsmanship
- ideally, you will have:
- several years of sales or business development experience within collectible design, lighting, furniture, galleries or the high-end interiors sector (minimum three – five years)
- an established network of architects, interior designers, specifiers and other relevant contacts in New York
- a strong understanding of the US luxury residential and design market
- excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- confidence presenting design, materials and craftsmanship at a high level
- an entrepreneurial and proactive approach to developing new business
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage projects and follow-ups independently
- an appreciation for craftsmanship, materiality, architecture and timeless design
- the ability to represent KAIA and its values with warmth, credibility and professionalism
- experience within collectible design or premium decorative lighting would be particularly valuable
