London, UK
Senior architect
at Richard Parr Associates
Richard Parr Associates is hiring a senior architect to join its team in London.
Who we are:
At Richard Parr Associates (RPA), we design timeless, beautiful and thoughtful architecture. Every project is a one-off shaped by its setting, the people who live or stay there, and a deep love of craft, materiality, and legacy design.
Led by Richard and powered by an exceptionally talented, passionate team of architects and designers, we create highly personal projects/spaces for visionary clients.
We believe the process should be just as inspiring as the result and we take real pride in guiding our clients through the journey.
The opportunity:
We’re looking for a senior architect to join our friendly, close-knit Studio. This position can be based in either our London studio or our country studio.
This is a hands-on, creative leadership role where you’ll help shape truly special residential and/or hospitality projects from first sketch through to completion.
You’ll be trusted with big ideas, complex projects, and close client relationships whilst working alongside a team that genuinely cares about great design (and each other).
If you love beautifully crafted architecture, enjoy collaboration, and want to work on projects you can be proud of, you’ll feel very at home here.
About you:
You’re confident, calm under pressure, creatively driven, and technically sharp. You enjoy leading projects but still love getting stuck into the details.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- five plus years’ post-Part 3 experience, ideally in high-end residential/hospitality
- experience running projects and leading small teams
- a genuine passion for craftsmanship, materials, and thoughtful design
- great people skills – you’re comfortable with clients, consultants, and collaborators
- experience across all RIBA stages
- a proactive, practical, “let’s-make-this-happen” attitude
- strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regs, CDM, and construction detailing
- excellent organisation and attention to detail
- solid skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- bonus points for SketchUp, Rhino and visualisation skills
What you’ll be doing:
- leading the design of beautiful, bespoke residential projects
- creating drawings and visuals that really bring ideas to life
- running client meetings, presentations, and design workshops
- coordinating technical packages and working with contractors
- collaborating with craftspeople, suppliers, and fabricators on bespoke details
- working closely with consultants to keep everything running smoothly
- visiting the site regularly and championing quality all the way through construction
What you’ll get:
- a competitive salary with annual reviews
- companywide performance-related bonus
- clear career progression
- great training and development opportunities
- 22 days holiday, increasing with length of service
- a supportive, social Studio culture with regular team get-togethers
- the chance to work on some truly exciting, design-led projects
How to apply:
If this sounds like your kind of studio and your kind of work, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV and portfolio to [email protected].
Due to the volume of applications, we can only contact shortlisted candidates.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
