Heatherwick Studio is looking for a communications manager for its office in London.
Are you a creative and strategic communications manager who is passionate about architecture and design? Do you have proven track experience being the main point of contact for media in a creative company? Would you like to head up the communications strategy for some of the most exciting projects in EU, Middle East and Asia?
An exciting vacancy has arisen with Heatherwick Studio to work as the communications manager focusing on all studio projects in EU, Middle East and Asia. This will be an amazing opportunity for an experienced applicant who has great knowledge about the architecture industry and extensive resources in relevant media channels and network.
This role belongs to the communications team and is supported by communications assistant. It reports to the senior communications Manager.
Your main responsibilities:
- manage all external relations for the studio’s projects based in EU, Middle East and Asia
- develop project communications strategy and deliver it day to day, including network development, public affairs, media relations and events
- generate positive publicity by developing and nurturing key relationships with international, national and specialist media
- hold primary relationships with clients’ communications representatives and represent the studio externally at a senior level
- coordinate media interviews for Thomas Heatherwick and studio spokespeople on a day-to-day basis and provide appropriate briefings to spokespeople
- organise and supervise visits by journalists, photographers, film crews, ensuring that best studio practice is followed at all times
- evaluate the quality of media coverage and monitor public perception of the studio and its projects
To be considered, you need to have:
- proven track experience as a communications manager in architecture and design industry
- experience of being main point of contact for media in a design-led architecture company
- ability to think creatively and strategically
- ability to deal with ambiguity and be super adaptable
- excellent communications skills and copy writing skills
- strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to build trust and long-term professional relationships
- good knowledge of and interest in design and architecture
- ability to work with high efficiency on a number of projects simultaneously
- excellent attention to details
- fluent skills using InDesign and Photoshop
- experience of communications work in Asia would be a great bonus
