Stanton Williams is looking for a BIM manager to join its team in London.

Role overview

The BIM Manager provides a vital role in ensuring that Stanton Williams BIM projects are delivered to the level of quality that is expected by clients. The main roles of the BIM Manager are to manage the strategic implementation of BIM and use of Revit and related software across the office, to provide support and training to staff at all levels and to champion the digital technology in a considered way. Reporting to a Senior Associate, the BIM Manager offers an open door to assist all staff on BIM and Revit matters.

Working days: full-time, Monday – Friday

Working hours: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Location: 36 Graham Street, London, N1 8GJ

Experience required: three-five years’ demonstrable experience of undertaking similar roles.

Key responsibilities:

• educate the Stanton Williams team, to increase the overall knowledge of BIM issues within the practice and proactively communicate developing best practice
• serve as the main point of contact, providing expert and practical advice on BIM best practices and innovations
• raise awareness and the profile of BIM within all areas of the business including Business Development, Work Winning / Bidding, Design, Delivery, etc.
• stay up to date with industry developments in the field of BIM
• manage and guide the implementation of Revit across the practice
• support project leads and advise on best practice and project strategies to ensure the correct BIM outcomes are achieved
• regularly review company templates, standards and procedures and guide project teams in their use
• provide resources for Revit and associated training across the practice
• lead the wider practice BIM group and conduct office wide presentations, as necessary to advertise BIM knowledge
• oversee quality control of models and work sharing with external parties, to ensure compliance with the Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR)
• attend seminars and liaise with industry bodies / Digital Construction environments to help maintain Stanton Williams’ position as a leader in this field
• develop the use of Revit and other 3D design software alongside other practice design methods including physical model making and hand sketching etc.
• liaise with clients, consultants and the extended supply chain to help project teams coordinate and efficiently manage exchange of information
• input to BIM Execution Plans to ensure compliance with the EIR and relevant British and international standards

Skills required:

• advanced knowledge of Revit and ACC is essential
• in-depth knowledge of all BIM workflows, standards and best practice
• knowledge of visualisation methods and how they are best managed as part of the overall BIM/modelling process
• good working knowledge of IT and the architectural process with relation to BIM
• constructing and managing family libraries, modelling, auditing and family implementation
• experience managing and interpreting larger scale federated Revit models
• sound working knowledge of the ISO 19650 parts one and two
• solid working knowledge of COBie and Uniclass 2015
• have excellent communication, organisation and planning skills
• can provide a holistic approach to BIM strategy within the office
• demonstrate enthusiasm, accuracy, confidence and pride in their work
• be enquiring, self-motivated and self-critical, willing to develop and learn
• be able to undertake a diverse range of tasks, involving different people and different activities, whilst prioritising their own work and achieving deadlines, referring to others if conflicts occur

Qualifications required:

• the BIM manager will preferably have studied to RIBA Part 2 level, or equivalent
• Information management practitioner certification and information management professional certification are desirable but not required
