Echo Architecture is seeking a junior interior designers/architectural assistants to join its team in London.
Echo Architecture are an international operation with studios in London and Riyadh working in close partnership to design, develop and deliver a variety of large-scale commercial projects. Due to an expanding project pipeline, the London Studio, located in the heart of W1W, are currently seeking ambitious interior designers and architectural assistants to join the growing team on a full-time basis.
This position would be ideal for designers with a minimum of two plus years’ industry experience, an enthusiastic and diligent nature, looking for the next step up in their career. You would gain exposure across design centric, large scale international projects, within a supportive and collaborative environment, acting as a key member of a diverse team of multi-disciplinary creatives.
You would be working within a focused unit, guided by senior interior designers and architects, where you will exercise problem solving skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to work autonomously, taking responsibility across an array of daily tasks.
In terms of projects, Echo Architecture covers a range of typologies such as Retail, Hospitality, Residential, Leisure, Workplace and Large Mixed-Use Schemes. Hands on experience across any of these building types, or middle eastern based projects is highly advantageous.
The role is initially offered on a fixed term contract, offering a competitive package, with the expectation of extension transferring to a full-term position should you wish to continue long term and progress with the studio.
Core responsibilities:
- concept development, demonstrating a high level of creativity in concept development, confident to work independently and collaboratively
- mood board creation and development, strong visual eye to be able to curate powerful imagery to tell a story / convey design intent
- ability to communicate and discuss ideas visually, through a variety of mediums such as 3D hand sketching
- project production, assist in development and delivery of drawing packages, schedules, information, and coordination
- exercise due diligence across all work, self-checking out put and flagging issues as they arise, taking initiative to propose design solutions
- able to work within a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to quick changes in focus
- application of materials knowledge, staying up to date with current design trends and willingness to contribute to research
Skills required:
- a degree in interior design, or a RIBA Part 2 qualification (or equivalent)
- software: AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape (or similar rendering software), InDesign and Photoshop
- experience on Large Scale Mixed Use Schemes, Retail, Leisure, Commercial or Entertainment projects in UK or Middle East is highly desirable
- high level of creativity and imagination with good design knowledge, organised and self-motivated, good attitude and intent to learn and progress
