Role description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Frome, Somerset, UK. As an assistant at Studio Saar, you will be responsible for supporting daily administrative tasks, design work and coordinating meetings. You will assist in research, document preparation, and project management. Additionally, you will help with client communications and ensure the efficient operation of the office.
Our work on a diverse range of projects from (housing, cultural spaces, community-led initiatives) with a strong emphasis on environmental design, material innovation, community empowerment.
We are seeking a motivated and creative RIBA Part 1 architectural assistant to join our collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to all stages of design and gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects.
Key responsibilities:
- support senior architects in the design and delivery of projects at varying scales
- prepare design drawings, visualisations, and presentation materials
- assist with model making (physical and digital) and research to support concept development
- contribute to the preparation of planning applications and design reports
- participate in design reviews, workshops, and project meetings
- work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- undertake site visits, surveys, and documentation as required
Skills and qualities:
- a recognised RIBA Part 1 qualification in architecture
- strong design, drawing, and visualisation skills
- proficiency in CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and SketchUp
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- a proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach
- interest in sustainable and socially engaged design
