What you’ll do
As a senior interior designer, you’ll be more than a project lead – you’ll be a future business leader. You’ll take ownership, mentor others, and help steer the direction of the studio.
Your responsibilities will include:
- design leadership – develop and present standout concepts aligned with client needs
- portfolio ownership – take charge of project portfolios, with scope to lead them independently
- business growth – play an active role in developing and growing KAI Interiors strategically
- project and team management – oversee multiple projects, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor junior designers
- client engagement – Build lasting relationships and present proposals with confidence
- technical expertise – Lead on space planning, construction drawings, and FF&E specification
- collaboration – work seamlessly with architects, contractors, and consultants
- quality assurance – ensure design excellence, profitability, and smooth project delivery
What we’re looking for:
- six years’ experience in UK hospitality interior design
- strong concept development, space planning, and styling skills
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
- confident presenting to large audiences and managing client relationships
- a natural leader – adaptable, supportive, inspiring
- ambition and drive – hungry to take on responsibility, grow with the business, and push boundaries
- exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- strong interpersonal and communication skills – a people person who thrives in collaboration
Work environment and salary:
- location: Hackney, London – full-time studio-based role, with flexibility for occasional WFH
- salary: variable depending on level of experienc
