Peter Mikic Interiors is looking for a print pattern designer to join our multi-discaplinary team.

The company

We are an interior design firm based in London that specialises in high-end residential and commercial projects both in the UK and overseas. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of projects within a close-knit and friendly studio. As a medium sized company, every position is varied and we all help each other where possible.

The role

This is a varied role that involves working closely with all members of the team as well as on individual projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating bespoke designs for textiles and other materials the role will consist of:

  • designing rugs, wallpapers, fabrics and cushions
  • seeing projects through from concept to completion
  • creating unique designs
  • managing and monitoring the production process
  • closely managing and liaising with stakeholders, manufacturers, and clients throughout
  • experimenting with different pathways to develop ideas
  • helping out where required within the studio – this could include working with the FF&E team with sourcing and installation on projects

You will be involved in several projects simultaneously and will be able to assist in other areas as required by the business.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • have a bachelors degree in textiles for Interiors or similar and have previous experience working in an interior design environment
  • be highly proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and AutoCAD as well as posses excellent hand drawing skills
  • be able to competently communicate designs and ideas as well as understand the making process
  • be comfortable working with project teams to develop ideas and finesse direction
  • be able to accurately interpret briefs from multiple team members in creation of in house original art layouts, working from drawings, sketches, scanned images, swatches or samples and be able to modify existing artwork to create new designs, and crucially
  • have a friendly, professional and team orientated approach to work
