Technical designer/architect
at Studiomacbride

StudioMacBride is hiring a technical designer/architect to join its team in Berlin, Germany.

About us

StudioMacBride is an award-winning global interior architecture and design studio recognised for shaping some of the world’s most refined hospitality and lifestyle destinations. With projects spanning the Caribbean, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, our work is defined by a deep commitment to context, craft, and quiet luxury.

We are seeking a technical designer to join our team. This is a senior role for a detail-driven architect or technical designer with a proven track record in delivering high-end hospitality, luxury development, or hotel projects.

The role

The technical designer will lead the development and delivery of our technical drawing packages, ensuring design intent is translated with precision into buildable, coordinated documentation. Working closely with our creative team, external architects, and specialist consultants, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest technical standards across all projects while helping to shape and refine our studio processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • project delivery: lead technical drawing packages across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, buildability, and international best practices
  • leadership: mentor and coordinate supporting designers, delegating tasks and reviewing work to maintain accuracy and consistency
  • workflow and standards: establish and maintain studio drawing standards, processes, and procedures to ensure clarity and efficiency
  • collaboration: liaise with architects, consultants, and contractors, coordinating technical information and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations
  • 3D and documentation: develop drawings and details using Vectorworks (essential), integrating 3D workflows to improve clarity and coordination.
  • BIM awareness: engage in BIM-based collaboration with architects and consultants (experience desirable, but not mandatory)
  • problem solving: anticipate and resolve technical challenges, ensuring solutions are aligned with project timelines and budgets

Candidate profile:

  • background: architect or technical designer with five to 10 years’ experience delivering technical drawing packages for high-end residential, hospitality, or luxury development projects
  • software: advanced Vectorworks capability; confident in 3D workflows
  • experience: proven ability to deliver complex detailing packages and coordinate across multiple disciplines
  • mindset: meticulous, process-driven, and able to balance design ambition with buildability
  • leadership: comfortable managing and mentoring junior designers
  • communication: clear communicator in both drawings and dialogue, with a collaborative approach to working with global teams
  • location: flexible; but keen to hear from those based in time zones outside Europe (e.g. Latin America, Asia, or Australia) though location is not a prerequisite

What we offer:

  • opportunity to work on globally recognised, award-winning projects across luxury hospitality and lifestyle
  • scope to shape studio standards, workflows and processes
  • flexible, international working environment
  • a four-day working week of 32 hours with flexible working hours
  • a hybrid approach or “productivity anywhere” allows our employees the freedom to choose where they get their best work done
  • salary range dependant on the successful candidates experience and skill level

Your Submission

Please include your CV and portfolio (max. 10MB) in your application, along with a cover letter including your notice period and salary expectations.
