Architect/Part 2 architectural assistant
at Nissen Richards Studio
Nissen Richards Studio is seeking a technically skilled architect/Part 2 architectural assistant to join its busy London team.
We are a London-based design studio that evolved from a collaboration between architecture and theatre design. Today, we are a multidisciplinary practice working across architecture, exhibitions, graphic design, theatre, story-telling, film and animation. At its core, our work is about creating spaces that stimulate experiences.
We’re looking for a technically proficient architect or exceptional Part 2 architectural assistant who is both technically capable and creatively engaged – someone who can navigate the detail and precision of construction while keeping sight of the wider design vision. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working on a variety of projects across scales and disciplines, based in the studio.

- excellent design sensibility and strong technical proficiency
- proven experience delivering RIBA Stages 4–6, including tender and construction information
- confidence working both independently and collaboratively
- organised, proactive, and skilled at problem-solving
- a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills
- experience on medium to large-scale residential projects
- solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and housing standards
- proficiency in Vectorworks Architect (2D and 3D) is preferred
- comfortable preparing presentations and design development documents across project stages
- familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- a positive, confident approach and the ability to manage multiple work streams
- some experience coordinating with external consultants and contractors is advantageous
What we offer:
- a supportive, open, and creative studio environment
- exposure to a wide range of project types and scales
- opportunities for growth, responsibility, and professional development
- flexible around core hours
- regular inclusive yoga sessions
- 20 days annual leave plus three days over Christmas plus one day for your birthday plus bank holidays (increasing after five years)
We are an equal opportunities employer. All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. No agencies, please.
