Adam Steel is looking for a production development specialist to join its team in London.
Adam Steel Studio is looking for a production development specialist to help transform design intent into beautifully crafted, manufacturable furniture.
This is a contract role based in London, with flexible remote working and the potential to evolve into a longer-term position.
You’ll join a small, focused team at an exciting stage of growth, building systems, workflows and relationships, which will shape how the studio produces refined, sculptural metal furniture in the years ahead.
Key responsibilities:
- translate 3D design concepts into precise, production-ready drawings
- work closely with our network of fabricators and suppliers to resolve details and ensure feasibility
- develop, test and document workflows that bridge design and fabrication
- support prototyping and production of refined, sculptural furniture in metal
- contribute to a collaborative, design-led culture where precision and craft are equally valued
Candidate profile:
- minimum of five years of experience in furniture production development or similar
- proficient in SolidWorks and/or Rhino, with a clear technical drawing sensibility
- strong understanding of metal fabrication, including sheet metal work, welding and finishing
- comfortable operating between engineering and design, balancing creativity with technical precision
- self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative, equally at home
- sketching ideas, refining CAD, or speaking with fabricators
- interested in how processes can evolve, you’ll help us define the next chapter of how bespoke furniture is made
