Part 2 architectural assistant
at Studio PDP

PDP is looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its office in London.

We have a number of roles available for Part 2 architectural assistants with experience of working on complex schemes, to work with project architects on a variety of residential and mixed-use schemes.

The role:

  • involvement in initial feasibility and sketch designs
  • being responsible for producing, coordinating and checking specifications, drawings and other documents for their project(s) in conjunction with their team leader
  • developing schemes for planning and other approvals
  • developing scheme designs to detailed design and on to production information stages
  • producing information including drawings, schedules and assistance with specification writing
  • materials and product sourcing and selection
  • developing the coordinated design with the input of other consultants, specialists and contractors
  • site inspections and quality control including dealing with contractors’ queries

Technical skills:

  • drawing and presentation skills
  • competency in Revit is essential
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to produce coherent and well resolved architectural designs
  • understanding of building technologies and environmental design and ability to employ structural theories, construction techniques and processes
  • knowledge of with technical standards, regulatory frameworks and health and safety requirements
  • knowledge of how a small business operates and the factors involved in the management of an architectural project
  • understand the professional duty of care arising from the relationships between client and architects, employer and employee
  • ability to assist in contract administration

  • ability to work under own initiative
  • ability to manage and appraise own working practices and career progression goals
  • ability to manage and communicate with other team members.
  • employ a suitable level of professionalism
