Watershedd is looking for a talented and experienced project architect to join its growing architecture and interior design studio in London.
We are a small, design-led studio specialising in high-end residential architecture and interiors. based in West London, our projects range from bespoke new-build houses to extensive refurbishments and extensions across London, Cornwall and throughout the UK.
Our work is centred around creating thoughtful, individual homes that respond to their setting and the way our clients want to live. we work across architecture and interiors, giving our team the opportunity to be involved in projects from early concept design through to detailing, construction and completion.
We are looking for an experienced project architect with a strong design sensibility and proven experience delivering high-quality residential projects. the successful candidate will take an active role in leading projects, working directly with clients, consultants and contractors, while remaining closely involved in the design and technical development of the work.
The studio
Watershedd is a close-knit team working from our London studio, with regular travel to projects across the UK, particularly Cornwall and the South West.
We place a strong emphasis on studio culture and creating an enjoyable, collaborative and creative place to work. as a relatively small team, everyone has an important role in the development of our projects and there is plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas, take ownership and influence the direction of the studio.
We believe good design is closely connected to lifestyle and culture. our interests extend beyond architecture into interiors, furniture, art, travel, food and the landscapes and places in which we work. we want the studio to reflect that broader creative outlook while maintaining a relaxed, supportive and ambitious working environment.

- managing projects and coordinating information across the wider consultant team
- liaising directly with clients, planning consultants, structural engineers, M&E consultants and other specialists
- coordinating contractors and specialist subcontractors during the construction phase
- attending client, consultant and site meetings
- responding to site queries and reviewing the quality and progress of work on site
- helping to maintain Watershedd’s design standards throughout the delivery of a project
- supporting and mentoring junior members of the studio
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who combines strong design ability with the technical and organisational skills required to deliver complex residential projects.
Candidates should have:
- experience working on high-quality residential architecture, ideally including bespoke new-build houses and substantial refurbishments

- proven experience taking residential projects through technical design and construction
- a strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and residential construction

- confidence communicating directly with clients, consultants and contractors
- the ability to lead projects while working collaboratively as part of a small team
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
- proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
- experience using Vectorworks is preferred, although training can be provided for the right candidate
Experience working on listed buildings, complex refurbishments or high-end interior design projects would be beneficial.
Essential requirements:
