Regional discipline lead
at AECOM
AECOM is seeking a regional discipline lead to join its practice in Manchester, UK.
The key focus for this role is to develop the disciplines of architecture, urban design, landscape and interior design, our design related capability as an integral part of the AECOM design practice UK North in north of the UK; northeast, west and Scotland.
You will help to create stability and consistency in the AECOM design practice, and explore cutting edge strategies for practicing design at scale in our multidisciplinary business.
Location. Flexible within UK, preferably Manchester. This is an ‘agile worker’ appointment.
There may be a requirement for a significant amount of travel across the UK Northern region, to initiate, implement and monitor the adoption of practice strategies, and to service framework clients.
As the B+P North UK regional discipline leader, you will be responsible for:
- developing the wider B+P practice strategy for expansion in North UK, focusing primarily in the commercial sector, for the design disciplines architecture and , urban design, landscape and interior design
- raising internal awareness of capabilities (including other end markets) to help drive collaboration
- providing resource planning to ensure efficiency of delivery
- work winning, in collaboration with market sector leaders
- working to become the best-in-class partner for our chosen clients, by anticipating our clients’ needs through the delivery of high-quality, innovative outcomes
- raising the profile of our thought leadership and the design practice across the business internally, and also externally
- leading on sharing best practice to support our technical teams
- inspiring and supporting our people, helping them to build satisfying and fulfilling careers with us
- solving the challenges created by complex projects of all sizes drawing on your creativity and ingenuity
- being accountable, through both influencing and collaborating across the B+P disciplines, for reducing project losses through successful project delivery and flawless execution
Specific skills and competencies:
- the postholder will have successfully built and led interiors design teams from stage zero through to completion, with demonstrable success
- have strong local client relationships in the northeast, northwest, Scotland and beyond
- will have a strong track record in business development, work winning and project delivery
- will have a working knowledge of the integration of BIM technologies into design practices
- will be passionate about design and take a close interest in the content and quality of the project workload
- will have experience in architectural practice accreditation to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, development and implementation
- will be a proven practitioner with significant international project experience
- will have proven experience, including practice management and leadership
- will have successfully led multidisciplinary teams projects of 50+ people from stage zero to completion in a range of sectors & typologies
- will have significant client facing capabilities
- will be familiar with the practice culture which is required to achieve a ‘high design’ architectural product
- will be a proven practitioner with significant project experience and a network of contacts across the region
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in architecture, landscape, urban design or other relevant professional discipline. Appropriate chartered status is essential.
