Peter Mikic Interiors are looking for a senior FF&E designer to join our busy east London studio. We are looking for an experienced creative, who will be proactive and organised in order to put together comprehensive briefs and work with deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communications are also essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including clients, sub-contractors and architects
Our practice specialises in high-end residential, restaurant and marine interior design, working both locally and internationally. We’re a vibrant group of architects and interior designers and strive to create a welcoming and enjoyable place for us all to work. As a studio we work regularly with mid-century pieces but the project style varies depending on the project and client.
The role and responsibilities:
- to lead numerous FF&E projects, with the assistance of more junior members of the team
- deliver a seamless service to our clients ensuring exceptional communication throughout
- to be the first point of contact for clients and client team as well as project managers and suppliers
- design of bespoke furniture including case pieces, upholstery, lighting
- lead client meetings
- coordinate contractors, suppliers, and services to ensure timely delivery of projects
- sourcing furniture, antiques and art
- be able to respond effectively to complex questions whilst working and switching between various project
- develop detailed specifications
- budget management
- building strong relationships with clients ensuring that our values are always upheld
- able to set and uphold deadlines
Key skills and attributes:
- comfortable and confident working with high profile figures exercising discretion
- five or more years’ post qualification experience with proven previous experience of delivering high-end residential FF&E packages from concept through to completion
- an exceptional eye for detail, colour, and knowledge of antiques
- proficient in AutoCAD with a good range of other computer skills such as Adobe Suite. Experience in Estimac preferred
- excellent verbal and written communications are also essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including clients, sub-contractors and architects
- experience working on projects in the UK
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to hit the ground running and be confident working both individually and with others. You’ll be patient, friendly, and exceptionally well organised. We’re looking for someone who will, alongside the day-to-day tasks, really engage with, inspire, and nurture our more junior members of staff and play their part in ensuring the studio environment is a great place for us all to be. As a studio we regularly source mid-century and contemporary pieces however the overall style would likely be considered eclectic. The successful applicant will need to have a broad knowledge and understanding of design styles to draw upon for different projects.
In addition to the above, this role will at times require travel nationally and abroad. Whilst we will always give our best efforts to give sufficient notice, at times this may not be possible.
