Architect

Studio McLeod is looking for a qualified architect with project-running, technical and construction experience to join its London office.
Studio McLeod is an RIBA award-winning architecture studio known for beautifully crafted buildings focused on wellbeing, and have recently been shortlisted in the upcoming BD Architect of the Year Awards.
We are looking for a qualified architect with experience working on complex domestic projects and/or medium scale cultural/commercial buildings through all stages, especially in 4 and 5. We are keen to find someone who likes solving puzzles, with technical and construction experience who wants to be part of a positive studio culture and be a long-term part of our team.
You would be working on residential remodelling schemes, new-build houses and larger projects, such as the Sevenoaks Nature and Wellbeing Centre. You will need to be a capable all-rounder to work independently as project lead and as part of a team.
Please provide examples of the following, within your cover letter/work samples:
- relevant experience in all stages with an emphasis on stages 4 and 5
- confident with production and technical drawings and detailing
- on-site experience, working with contractors and administering contracts
Preferred skills and experience:
- ability to clearly present ideas and designs
- passion for construction, making and understanding how things go together
- proactive, confident and able to show initiative working independently and as part of a team
- well organised with good time management skills
- fast learner able to adapt to new challenges
- confidence with Vectorworks (although training will be given)
- Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Word and Excel required
