UCL Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking teaching fellows in engineering and architectural design in London.
Teaching fellows/senior teaching fellows in Engineering and Architectural Design, MEng
Part-time: from 2.56 – 19.35 hours per week
The appointment will be on UCL Grade. The salary range will be Grade 7 £39,353 -£42,701 and grade 8 £43,884 – £51,769 per annum, inclusive of London allowance.
Set within UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment, the Bartlett School of Architecture is one of the world’s most exciting architecture schools, in one of its most inspiring cities. In recent years we have been ranked UK’s No1 department for architectural research (RAE 2008 and REF 2014), the AJ100’s best school of architecture since the poll began 15 years ago, and the UK’s top school of architecture by the Guardian University League Tables on 10 occasions in the same period.
The school has a number of part-time teaching positions on the Engineering and Architectural Design, MEng programme. These roles range from 0.07 (15.4 Days/2.56 hours) to 0.53FTE (116.6 Days/19.35 hours) and include Tutor and Module Leader roles. Contracts will be offered as open-ended (unless otherwise stated) following successful completion of a 24- month probationary period.

Post holder(s) will be required to teach their appointed subject to students on prescribed modules at specific times of year. The central purpose of all roles is to maintain an innovative and distinct academic agenda within both the global context of architectural development and the local context of the school.
Posts are available to candidates with relevant expertise and previous teaching experience in architectural design at UCL or a university of equivalent status.
We are looking for teaching professionals with a higher degree in architecture or architecture related discipline along with excellent knowledge of architectural design strategies. In addition, successful post holder(s) will be able to demonstrate a track-record of high-level teaching at an esteemed school of architecture, leading students to a recognised high standard of work, including international awards, e.g. RIBA president’s medals, etc.
As well as possessing the ability to translate advances in architecture into own teaching delivery methods, applicants will demonstrate inclusive teaching practices and use of a range of teaching technologies including provision of timely and effective feedback to students.
