Junior/mid-weight interior designer

Finkernagel Ross has an opportunity for a junior/mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

Within the recently established interior design group at Finkernagel Ross we offer a unique opportunity for a junior or mid-weight designer to be part of a growing and exciting design practice.

This role is to support the senior designer and design director on all aspects and levels of new high-end residential and commercial commissions, by proactively taking control and initiative and contribute to successful delivery of these projects.

The strongest candidate will demonstrably meet and surpass the below criteria and fit within our office culture and design ethos.

Essential skills and attributes:

  • excellent design, communication and presentation skills to include a faultless grasp of English, written and spoken
  • strong representational and organisational ability in all forms (manual and digital)
  • strong sketching and illustration capability
  • competent process management
  • experience in managing budgets and producing specification documentation
  • keen interest in all areas of design, particularly contemporary and emerging trends affecting the industry, coupled with strong research skills
  • minimum three years’ post qualification experience, preferably in residential design and/or commercial fitout (Cat A and Cat B); experience in hospitality design a plus
  • experience in FF&E sourcing and procurement

Qualifications and technical requirements

  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent (or higher) in interior design or interior architecture
  • demonstrable versatility in AutoCAD essential; Revit advantage
  • SketchUp; Rhino and V-Ray advantage
  • Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Photoshop essential, other apps a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
