Senior lead concept designer

Jet Aviation is looking for a senior lead concept designer to join its team in Basel, Switzerland.
As the senior lead concept designer of Jet Aviation’s interior design studio you will hold a key responsibility in the acquisition of completions contracts and the successful execution of completions projects. As the project leader of the up-front and concept design definition process, you will be responsible for managing the related multifunctional team, reaching the projects defined milestone targets on time, cost and definition quality. In this key position you will engage with the client to understand with clarity their requirements, work with the design studio to develop design options, and compellingly present comprehensive and first-class design concepts back to the customer.
The role:
- as responsible for concept design projects and acquisition of new customers and customers relations, you cultivate a strong, long-lasting relationship with the customer and customer representatives, together with the team completions sales
- in collaboration with the senior director interior designer, you are the representative of Jet Aviation design for all industry facing channels (speaking forums, industry interviews, tradeshows etc)
- you act as the concept design project leader of all completion projects up to final design concept (FDC), you have the responsibility for the complete definition process and project milestones of the up-front process
- you act as the focal point for sales, program management, production and engineering for program interdisciplinary concept design
- accountable concept design manager of the customer milestone meetings (project kick-off, concept meetings, completion agreement, review meetings, design freeze until management handover to the project manager)
- management of design elements related to the concept of the completion agreement (terms, conditions and approvals) including pricing negotiations and project payment schedule
- you manage the capacity planning, project milestones and future projects (pipeline management) for the Jet Aviation concept design
Minimum qualifications/requirements:
- university degree in a related field (interior design, product design or interior architecture) with at least seven years’ experience in the aircraft, yacht or automotive interior design industry
- proven recent experience leading design teams through complex completions projects
- excellent CAD and presentation skills
- outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- highly presentable with a persuasive and engaging demeanor
- strong influencing skills with high business and financial acumen
- willingness to travel at short notice
- fluent English skills is a must
