David M. Sullivan is seeking a junior designer to join its firm in New York, USA.
Full-service interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial renovations currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced junior designer to assist in developing and delivering concepts for several projects while maintaining and managing drawing task lists and schedules. Applicants should have extensive (three-five years’) experience in the interior design/architecture process from concept development through production and installation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are essential, as well is the ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously, some with short timelines.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- executing design direction to create architectural drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture layouts
- managing drawing tasks for each project, while projecting deadlines and benchmarks for drawing deliverables
- liaising with the AOR in coordination of drawing efforts, filing and bid sets, and other related documents
- assisting senior designer in preparing for client meetings and design presentations
- attending regular project and site meetings
- communicating with vendors and subcontractors
Requirements:
- bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture, related degrees will be considered
- at least three-five years of experience in the design field preferred
- proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D software (Rhino, Sketchup, V-Ray -Solidworks and Revit a plus), with ability to produce high-quality renderings
- knowledge of design history and the ability to design within varying aesthetic constraints
- experience with schedule development (preferably in Excel)
- advanced knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- resourceful and efficient problem-solving skills
- positive attitude and outlook
- ability to work 40+ hours a week in a fast-paced environment
- currently living in New York (or willing to relocate) and legally eligible to work in the United States
