Marc Wood Studio has an opportunity for a product development/production intern to join its team in London.
Marc Wood creates handcrafted lighting collections and bespoke installations for high-end interiors.
This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent product design potential to join a close-knit start-up design business.
This is a paid position.
Duration: six to 12 months from September 2022
Architects will not be considered.
Key responsibilities:
- develop lighting collections and bespoke sculptures from concept through prototyping and into full production
- assist in the complete order fulfilment process including product assembly, wiring and packaging
- assist with hands-on workshop-based prototyping and component production
- assist in trade enquiries and client liaison
- assist with all aspects of fostering and developing a start-up business
You should be able to demonstrate that you are able to meet some, or all, of the following requirements:
- be a self-motivated and self-disciplined individual
- be highly ambitious and extremely motivated to learn
- be efficient, superbly organised and have great attention to detail
- enjoy a challenge and do whatever it takes to get the job done
- have relevant experience in product/furniture design and be a graduate of a relevant degree program
- have practical workshop experience and be proficient in making physical products
- proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Adobe Suite is beneficial
- a high level of numeracy and literacy in English and able to work in the UK
