Marks Barfield Architects is an award-winning entrepreneurial architectural practice, best known as the creators of the London Eye our diverse portfolio also includes projects ranging from the Kew Gardens Treetop Walkway, the British Airways i360, schools and mixed-use developments, to the new Cambridge Central Mosque.

We are keen to seek an architect/architectural technician with a minimum of five years’ post-university experience – with three years minimum in the UK – to join our convivial team. The role will include running packages during the technical design and construction stages of a complex project. Someone with good relevant experience, who really enjoys the detail side of architecture, and can happily work independently, would suit this position. Following on with a focus on other mixed-use projects. Experience with Passivhaus an advantage.

The ability to liaise with the client, contractors and consultants needs to be demonstrated; together with the understanding of how the London Plan, the London Borough of Camden Local Development Framework Core strategy, the Camden Local Plan 2017 and Westminster City Plan affects mixed-use development projects in London.

Excellent design skills showing clear and concise technical detailing are required and advanced knowledge in Revit and BIM is essential. Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino3D and Vray would be nice. An excellent understanding of UK building regulations and NBS specification writing is also required. Experience working on sustainable designs and expert 3D visualisation is of interest.
