Fletcher Priest Architects is looking for a urban designer to join its team in London.
Fletcher Priest Architects is an award-winning architectural practice based in central London. We are seeking an urban designer with a proven track record of creating innovative masterplans and being responsible for large scale projects, to join our dedicated urban design and masterplanning team within our lively studio. We need an applicant with excellent design ability and technical knowledge. The team is growing as a result of an increasing diversity of high profile projects, and there are excellent opportunities for long term growth and development.
Project description
UK based residential led masterplans, and mixed-use masterplanning projects at a variety of scales. Project urban designer. We are seeking an urban designer with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience with a proven track record of managing team members and being responsible for large scale projects from inception to planning submission.
Requirements
- MA in urban design or equivalent subject – architectural background preferred
- a minimum of three years’ UK based post qualification experience working on medium to large-scale masterplanning projects
- possess excellent design ability and technical knowledge good knowledge of UK legislative and planning policy context experience of design coding and other formal documentation of design for planning
- commercially aware, mature, responsible and reliable capable of liaising confidently with clients and consultants and developing those professional relationships
- wants to take on and drive projects forward with little day to day ‘hands-on’ guidance. Particularly, we are looking for an autonomous job runner also adaptable and capable of working within teams
- the ideal candidate will have a good free-hand drawing ability, have excellent presentation and graphics skills and be a confident user of the Adobe Suite, AutoCAD and/or Revit, SketchUp and/or Rhino
