Creativity and Innovation in Xiamen, China.

About Xiamen University:
Xiamen University is a highly prestigious university in China, the Times Higher Education ranks it 9th in China, in the top 100 across the whole of the Asia-Pacific region and in the top 500 universities globally. Their research is highly positioned internationally for its quality and impact, notably in the fields of Chemistry and Economics. The university is directly administered by the Chinese Ministry of Education and is highly rated nationally for subjects including journalism, chemistry and economics.
About the Institute for Creativity and Innovation:
The Institute for Creativity and Innovation will be a fully- integrated campus of Xiamen University, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. UCA will deliver at least 40 per cent of the teaching and will manage the quality assurance process to ensure that the courses adhere to UK Higher Education standards. The partnership will be launched in September 2020.
The role:
Salary: £35,211 – £48,676, plus accommodation and benefits
The University for the Creative Arts is seeking a talented educator to lead teaching, learning and assessment in interior architecture and design at the institute of creativity and innovation in Xiamen, China, which we are launching in partnership with Xiamen University. This is a unique opportunity to join an institution at its inception and to contribute to its future direction and success.
The teaching fellow/senior teaching fellow will have a deep understanding of the discipline, combined with the ability to engage and inspire students. You will hold a higher degree in a relevant discipline, along with a teaching qualification or equivalent professional experience.
The right candidate will have the passion and drive needed to contribute to the successful establishment of the institute and to contribute to the ongoing development of its course portfolio in line with the needs of the emerging Chinese creative industries.
Based in Xiamen, a temperate coastal city in the south of China with a sizeable expat population, the role comes with free accommodation, private medical insurance and a personal travel allowance.
Priority will be given to applicants with experience of working in the UK, or other countries where courses are taught in English.
Candidates must be able to meet the Chinese visa requirements which are
available here. UCA will assist with obtaining visa.
