Kiani Architects is seeking a RIBA Part 2/3 architect to join its team in London.
Kiani Architects is looking for a creative, self-assured and motivated Part 2 or recently qualified Part 3 to join its studio in Central London. We are a newly established but growing architectural studio based in Moorgate EC1, working throughout London on new build and extensive refurbishments, working closely with developers and main contractors, creating aspirational and functional commercial and hospitality spaces.
This role will provide a broad range of experience from concept to detail design and on-site to client facing meetings. We are looking for candidates comfortable in all roles and used to working in a face-paced environment.
Job profile
Responsible for the day to day running of a large commercial project (new build and refurbishment) in EC1R currently at the pre-planning stage with Islington, the role requires coordination with planners, the design team, consultants, heritage, SMEP etc to ensure a coordinated and intelligent design is developed. This role will require internal design development and exploration and support of a broad range of consultants, requiring the production and coordination 2D and 3D information.
Candidate profile:
- first hand experience of all RIBA planning stages
- a practical understand of the building regulations
- fluency in Autodesk packages (AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Revit) and Adobe Suite programs
- strengths in 3D modelling and design using SketchUp and Rhino
- experience at coordinating SMEP consultants, including reviewing structural and M&E drawings
- a working knowledge and interest in 3D Printing (FDM) and digital file preparation. An interest in technical innovations
- ability to work remotely and in the office
- strong creativity, problem solving ability, technical ability and visual presentation style
Key responsibilities:
- produce and issue architectural drawings and reports ranging in detail from concept to coordination technical sections
- review and coordinate drawing packages. Review and coordination project team and design team
- prepare schematic designs for client approval
- manage project filing as per the office procedures and requirements
- attend site visits, site meetings (physical if necessary), video calls, take minutes, conduct architectural surveys
- visualisations, model making, internal and external presentation materials
