London, UK
Photographer
at Morris + Company

Morris + Company is seeking a photographer to join its team in London.

We are seeking to expand our network of photographers for current and ongoing projects by making an open call for applicants for a series of upcoming standalone commissions.

We would like to encourage applications from sections of the community that are under-represented in the built environment sector, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, faith or disability. This is one immediate step we can take to ensure that our workforce and collaborators reflect the diversity of the communities who live and work in our buildings, alongside our longer-term commitments.

Over its sixteen year period Morris + Company has collaborated with many of the UK’s most talented photographers. Our design method is highly collaborative and we enjoy an experimental approach when working with photographers that record our work. We are not prescriptive on style and would like to explore a range of media and approaches, welcoming new insights and fresh perspectives.

Photography is an essential part of the design process at Morris + Company and we like to document projects at each stage through carefully curated photographs of process models, materials and experiments which can vary in scale from 1:1000 up to 1:1 full scale building mock-ups.  We observe our work predominantly through a photographer’s lens, capturing the model making journey, construction phases and completed buildings that are in use. Our work spans many typologies, scales and locations; from the domestic and intimate scale homes for private clients, to high density estate wide regeneration, to spaces of work, play, learning and wellbeing.

If you have a passion for the built environment, in the stories of local communities, and the fragility of the natural environment, then please get in touch.
