Job description 

Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS) is an internationally acclaimed interior architecture and design practice based in London and New York. Over the last 18 years, the studio has worked across the world with notable clients including Four Seasons, Rosewood Hotels, Six Senses Luxury Resorts, Soho House Group, The Birley Group, Caprice Holdings, Sydell Group and The Royal Academy of Arts, alongside a number of private residences. Having recently completed the redesign of Annabel’s in Mayfair and The Surf Club Restaurant with Chef Thomas Keller in Miami, the studio is currently working on creating the interiors for projects in London, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Paris, Zurich, Copenhagen, Madrid, Stockholm, Athens and Hong Kong.

MBDS has a vacancy for an ambitious and talented senior FF&E designer to join the studio.

The position will offer a high-level of responsibility in the management and coordination of the design of multiple and simultaneous projects. The Senior FF&E Designer will develop the design concept as well as the design details and deal with the day to day running of their projects.

The ideal candidate will be very experienced with all aspects of design and design project management from large scale hotels and residential developments to high end restaurant and restaurant roll-outs. An excellent understanding of furniture and product, interior architecture and design is a must. Further, a comprehensive understanding of construction technology is imperative as well as knowledge of current building regulations. Since the position includes communication with client representatives and other project team consultants, a high level of verbal and written communication skills are a must.

An extremely high-level of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is key. Additional computer programme skills would be an advantage, such as InDesign, Studio Designer and Adobe Creative Suite. An engaging and diplomatic manner and clean and tidy appearance is expected.

Experience

Six to ten years of experience in either hospitality or residential design and be very experienced with running jobs; either large scale residential, hotels or restaurant roll-outs.

Responsibilities:

  • running FF&E projects from concept to completion at ALL levels of design production
  • understanding the FF&E project programmes and keeping those required up to date at all times
  • covering other team members’ responsibilities through holiday periods
  • mentoring junior members within the team
  • supporting the general well-being of the team and its productivity
  • demonstrate confidence in sketching and presenting new ideas
