Marian Boswall Landscape Architects is seeking a senior landscape architect to join its team in Kent, UK.
Marian Boswall Landscape Architects is currently looking to recruit a talented senior landscape architect on a full-time basis.
We are a highly regarded and award-winning landscape design practice with a strong portfolio of on-going projects. Based at our studio in the countryside near Staplehurst, we work countrywide with occasional projects abroad. Our expanding portfolio means that we are currently looking for a creative and focused person to join our talented team of landscape architects, designers and plants people.
About you
You will have excellent design skills with a strong background with Vectorworks, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. You will be actively involved in projects from kick off meetings with the design team to building excellent, on-going client relationships, as well as working closely with our principal on business development, scheduling and leadership of the team. You will provide technical design expertise for our projects. You will be passionate about landscape architecture, plants and the land.
Essential skills and experience for the role are:
- CMLI or equivalent professional experience working in a landscape studio and/or on primarily landscape design projects
- excellent communication and coordination skills, including the ability to sketch/develop designs by hand as well as digitally
- experience in working across work stages from concept design to delivery on site including confident and accurate construction detailing
- knowledge of the UK planning system with experience in preparing planning applications, experience of sensitive sites an advantage
- experience of working directly with clients and other consultants
- ability to work effectively in a team, manage project teams and work to tight deadlines
- strong skills in Vectorworks, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
- fluency in English language
- own transport
- the right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- good plant knowledge
- an interest in and knowledge of sustainable design practices
- an interest in garden design
Salary: competitive and dependent on experience.

A Landscape Institute registered practice, we are a small team of landscape architects and horticultural specialists led by Marian Boswall. We combine horticultural, visual design and project management expertise to provide a complete landscape design service, from conception through planning and tender, to construction and planting.
