native north is seeking a freelance architectural technologist to join its team in London.

native north is a London-based architecture practice with people and place at the heart of what we do. We’re looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious freelance architectural technologist to work on a range of residential projects varying in size and complexity.

• Location: London or remotely
• Start date: immediate
• Duration: one year, 40 hours per week (three month review)
• Salary: circa. £27,000 equivalent or commensurate with experience

Roles and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare construction packages based upon the client’s brief, consented planning information and other consultants information along with managing the project team.

Required skills and experience:

• over three years’ experience post qualification (ideally MCIAT accreditation)
• strong technical skills gained on a range of varying scale projects and sectors, primarily residential
• excellent Revit, AutoCAD, Specification Writing (ideally NBS) and IT (Microsoft Office/Excel) skills are essential
• a strong understanding of the current Building Regulations, LABC, NHBC and associated construction guidance and third-party warranty requirements
• demonstrated ability to lead a project team to prepare detailed and fully coordinated working drawing packages within agreed timescales
• focus on RIBA Workstages 4-7 with involvement in design development during RIBA Workstages 0-3
• managing tender processes: documentation, issuing and analysing
• site inspections: liaison with contractors on site, responding to RFI’s, managing site inspections and producing documentation
• the capacity to be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent communication and organisational skills
• eligibility to work permanently in the UK and fluent written and spoken English
• keen interest in current and emerging technical and sustainability solutions and products
• awareness of current CDM regulations is advantageous
