Studio Fuksas is seeking an architect/project manager to join its team in Rome.

A five to ten years’ experience architect with proven experience in the development of bespoke architectural developments from conceptual stages to further development and details (SD and DD phases) at international firms. Strong domain in the functional and organisational articulation of spatial properties into more advanced and technical deliveries with successful completion package documentation, submission sets with total coordination with other consultants.

Ideal candidates should have track-record expertise in the coordination of planimetric documentation at all instances of the design process, including ultimate delivery stages. Milestones and schedule driven-professional, with excellent time management in time sensitive process. Team oriented, solid communicational and organizational skills while contributing within a collaborative setting.

Objectives

The selected professional is required to be responsible for the proper development of the projects from early stages of conceptual design up to further detail stages. Able to carry out the maturity of the architectural initial approach into a more evolved and consistent phase where technical considerations and coordination with technical disciplines are involved. Direct report and interaction with studio principals on regular bases. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • proven ability to develop from conceptual to ultimate phases of design
  • autonomy in the development of functional programs and related layout
  • develop different design options sensitive time frame, in coordination with the design principal
  • project drawing documentation during the SD and DD phases
  • follow up of all instances of the design process from vision or concept, schematic design, detail design to ensure quality and precise delivery
  • prepare advancement reports of design progress and possible scenarios
  • organisational skills are highly appreciated (strong communicator with ability to manage fast-moving projects and deadlines)
  • ability to manage complex design-technical aspects within simultaneous areas of large-scale project in coordination with other involved teams
  • implement and follow-up of quality control-quality assurance protocols at submittals and delivery documentation, with accuracy and structured methodologic discipline

Qualifications and skills:

  • architecture master’s degree in a recognised international university
  • five to ten years’ experience after graduation
  • ability to manage complex design-technical aspects within simultaneous areas of large-scale project in coordination with other involved teams
  • proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM User or operational level) and Adobe Suite is expected
  • ability to work independently, and to manage multiple tasks and projects under constant deadlines
  • ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner and organised methodology
  • construction experience and detailing knowledge and implementation is required
  • self-motivated with ability to develop work and process of production with minimal supervision. Demonstrate commitment to the multidisciplinary project development process and team-focused environment
  • excellent English oral, written communication skills are a must. Other languages are considered advantageous)
