Link+ Architects is seeking an interior designer to join its team in Shanghai.
Job purpose
The interior designer will work on inspiring creative initiatives and bring the innovative spaces and building solutions from concept to completion to the market after developing and understanding design strategy with a very strong creative input and excellent team-working skills. From small to big-scale projects, the interior designer will be able to deliver the best possible creative and technical solution to fulfill the clients’ needs within timeline and budget.
Link+ Architects is a space design firm that integrates art, culture, fashion and high technology to enhance our clients’ brand images through disruptive solutions and experiences.
Key responsibilities:
Design and management:
- develop innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budgets and deadlines
- conduct conceptual exploration, including research, ideation, drawing, sketching and design
- render conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D/3D presentation/design drawings
- select and define all interior/architectural materials and finishes, furniture, lighting and artwork
- assists project manager, project leader and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required
- prepare, correct and update documents during schematic design and design development phases
- follow-up all projects development to ensure a final high-quality and on-schedule delivery throughout all project’s phases
- proven ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at one time
- travel regularly to worksites and attend meetings with clients, contractors and vendors
- support other design teams, when possible, in accomplishing project’s scopes and deadlines
Coordination and communication:
- participates activity and communication between architectural team, all designers, project manager and all employee involved in the project
- cooperate with other departments to complete projects and maintain effective communication
- respond to project leader in terms of workflow, workload, timing, design intent and instructions
Key relationships:
- internal: managing partner, architects, interior designers and all C&D team, project management team, BD team
- external: clients, suppliers, vendors, landlords, authorities, general and millwork contractors
Qualification requirements:
Background:
- at least three years’ experience in interior, architecture, urban design projects including commercial projects (malls, retail projects and public spaces in China)
- a qualification in interior design or architecture
Education and experience:
- a creative and innovative data-driven mindset that can drive beautiful and functional ideas at the same time
- possess creative talent in conceptual design and rendering skills and extraordinary design taste and sense of aesthetic
- excellent knowledge of design, trends, construction technology and process, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
- knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, colour and materials to carry out design intent
- knowledge of building regulations and safety codes
- knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principle involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- have strong visual awareness and eye for detail and proportion

Skills:
- fluent in English, written and oral
- good proficiency of architectural drawing software (AutoCAD), of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)/3D software (SketchUp or Rhino), 3ds Max is a plus
