Oberlanders is looking for a business development manager to join its team in Oxford, UK.
Oberlanders are currently seeking to recruit to this newly created and strategic post within the business support team.
Who we are
Oberlanders are a multi-award winning architectural practice with offices in Edinburgh, Oxford, Ardgay in Sutherland and Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. We specialise in all areas of architectural design with particular experience in large scale, complex science and research, education and health care projects. Our project locations span the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland and occasionally on sites in mainland Europe. We have a staff of over 50 working as an integrated unit across all four office locations. In the current COVID-19 circumstances, our office locations are closed and all staff are working from home, fully utilising the Microsoft Office 365/Teams platform.
Who you are
Essential:
- at least three years’ experience in a similar business development role
- demonstrably experienced and confident in implementing business strategies
- confident about bringing individual creative input to business development content
- confident with using social media – Linkedin/Twitter/Instagram
- an excellent organiser, with the ability to prioritise tasks, work both independently and as a team, delivering in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise with senior management, clients, potential clients and collaborators
- demonstrable knowledge of the South of England Construction market – and specifically the London/Oxford/Cambridge triangle
- experience of working within a construction consultancy environment would be beneficial
- an advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite
- intermediate Adobe Indesign
- clean driving licence
- degree qualified
Desirable:
- experience of website management, web design
- copywriting and editing experience
Responsibilities:
- working with the overall practice business development lead you will be responsible for maintaining our business strategy plan for the South of England and supporting where required other business development activities elsewhere across the business
- you will also be responsible for reporting on progress against business development targets
- researching, identifying and cultivating new business opportunities (including frameworks) with potential clients, contractors and consultants through attending conferences/networking events/B2B meetings etc
- managing and coordinating the production of bid submissions
- reviewing, editing and preparing bid submissions
- preparing and delivering business development presentations to potential clients, contractors and consultants
- preparing reports on current and forthcoming bids, acquisitions and opportunities
- conducting tender debriefs and client service reviews
- based in Oxford, Milton Park – occasional travel may also be required to our other studios across the UK
You will work as part of dynamic team in a supportive, collaborative environment. Salary will be negotiable based on experience.
