Title: project coordinator at Emalin Ltd.
Location: Emalin London (1 Holywell Lane, London EC2A 3ET)
As of: as soon as possible/no later than August 2021
Schedule: 10am – 6pm, Monday – Friday
(some evening and weekends required, particularly during busy fair periods and openings)
Salary: £30k – £35k p.a. depending on experience
About the gallery
Emalin is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2016 by Angelina Volk and Leopold Thun. The gallery programme is internationally oriented and represents artists from Eurasia, USA and Europe. The gallery is based in East London, with five to six show rotations a year and regular participation in international art fairs.
Type of applicant
The applicant is required to have at least three to five years’ experience working in a gallery or a creative retail company, in a position entailing the overseeing of resources and timelines. Professional experience in the fulfilment of exhibition projects is required. Knowledge of arts/goods shipping standards and regulations as well as experience as a registrar, handling and installing artworks (or similar) is required. Basic construction and production skills are a bonus. A driver license is preferred.
The ideal candidate is target-based, detail-oriented, measured and practical. As an all-encompassing project coordinator, they are a natural decision-maker and someone who will define working processes themselves. The ability to quickly identify problems and develop solutions is key. In addition, they are able to manage and execute complex, multi-part projects, effectively prioritising their time independently and efficiently to ensure projects stay on schedule. Further on they will have the ability to work proactively and independently, as well as to take direction and collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
