Adjaye Associates is hiring an interior designer/architect to join its team in London.
Junior to intermediate interior designer/architect
The position would be based in the London office, from where we oversee projects in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
The candidate should have:
- minimum of two years’ experience in the role of an interior designer or interior architect
- bachelor’s degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- thorough knowledge of furniture and finishes
- excellent design, presentation, and graphics skills
- technical knowledge and ability to deliver technical drawing packages, including bespoke detailing
- good understanding of high-end design, and custom design processes
- confidence in liaising with outside suppliers, contractors and specialists
- interest in keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
- the ability to visualise concepts, and confidently explain and present them to others
- strong proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- experience with Rhino, and SketchUp
- interest in cultural, commercial, and hospitality sectors
The candidate will work with the Interiors team on the following:
- work with the design team to produce furniture plans, elevation drawings, diagrams, and details
- assist with all phases of the project including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents
- render furniture plans and views to create presentations with the ability to create cohesive documents
- research and source architectural and interior finishes, fabrics, furniture, sanitaryware, ironmongery, etc.
- produce schedules for specified items
- coordinate internally with teams, as well as externally with consultants and suppliers
- present ideas both internally and externally
