Part 1 architectural assistants
at Cowper Griffith Architects
Cowper Griffith Architects is looking for Part 1 architectural assistants to join its team in Cambridge.
Cowper Griffith Architects (CGA) is seeking Part 1 architectural assistants to enable the delivery of a variety of challenging and inspiring schemes.
CGA works across a number of sectors, with a focus on bespoke residential, community/visitor facilities, ecclesiastical, housing and school buildings. No two scenarios are alike, though many involve the careful conservation, extension and betterment of heritage assets. Our work is bound by a consistent quality, sensitivity, ingenuity and craft, as we seek to create enduring spaces and settings informed by a deep understanding of their contexts.
We work primarily in the southeast and East Anglia, often on beautiful rural and coastal sites, though we have nationwide coverage for the right project. We are regularly invited to bid for interesting work and we deliver award winning, contemporary buildings for a range of national and regional heritage and landscape custodians.
Our small, purpose-built offices just south of Cambridge offer a bright, open plan and collaborative working environment, where ideas and experience are freely shared.
We seek candidates with excellent oral, written and drawn communication skills.
We use Vectorworks 3D and the Adobe Creative Suite. CAD cross-training will be given.
Projects range in size from £0.25m to £10m+. Staff are expected to be able to work independently, reporting directly to a senior colleague, or as part of a small team delivering larger and more complex proposals.
We strive to offer diversity and quality of experience, ranging from ‘front end’ graphic exercises to assisting with construction drawings, alongside site visits, varied CPD and all necessary study leave. Candidates will be exposed to clients, consultant teams, authorities and suppliers and will be regarded as integral team members.
The practice is relatively small but increasingly busy. We are now back in our low density, well-ventilated office and we are excited and positive about our promising future.
Salary will be in line with current RIBA survey data.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
To apply please send a covering letter, CV and portfolio (no larger than 10mb) via the ‘apply’ link below.
Due to the large number of applications we are unable to respond to all applicants. If you do not hear from us within one week of the closing date, please assume you have been unsuccessful.
